KAB Student Membership
Definition of a Student Member:
Any individual enrolled in a radio/TV or broadcast-related curriculum at a Kansas school or any student interested in pursuing a broadcast education/career, and who is not employed full time at a broadcast station, is eligible for student membership in the Kansas Association of Broadcasters. (NOTE: If you are employed full time at a Kansas broadcast station, you may be eligible for KAB Professional Membership.) Applications are subject to approval by the KAB Board of Directors.

Student Member Benefits:
A free subscription to the KAB Transmitter, a free roster of Kansas radio and television stations, and mailings on all KAB seminars and activities. Membership in the KAB provides excellent networking opportunities with professionals in Kansas broadcasting. The KAB annually sponsors a student seminar and student awards competition. Broadcast scholarships are available for college students (Kansas residents) entering their junior year or above at a four-year Kansas college; or their sophomore year at a two-year college. May 1 is the deadline for scholarship applications.

Student Member Dues:
Student Membership dues are $15 per year.

Contributions or gifts to the KAB are not tax deductible as charitable contributions for income tax purposes. However, they may be tax deductible as ordinary and necessary business expenses subject to restrictions imposed as a result of association lobbying activities. KAB estimates the nondeductible portion of your dues – the proportion which is allocable to lobbying- is 33%.
