KAB Foundation

Dear Friends and Colleagues:

There is no more dynamic industry today than broadcasting. Digital technology and web-based communications bring changes that make it imperative to improve educational opportunities for current and future broadcasters. We have to face facts: communications have changed. Those of us raised on radio and TV are dinosaurs compared to our children and grandchildren, who are growing up with internet technology, wireless communication and mobile devices.

The most pressing need is for qualified engineering professionals who are skilled in both transmitter and internet technologies. At the same time we need ongoing sales training for both veterans and people new to our field. As our industry changes, we need to train the next generation of broadcasters. We must inspire young people to carry on the storied tradition of broadcasting in Kansas.

The Kansas Association of Broadcasters Foundation’s Advancing Excellence in Kansas Broadcasting campaign responds to these ever-changing industry demands by providing continuing education for established broadcasters and supporting Kansas young people who aspire to broadcasting. The effort will enhance learning opportunities by tripling the scholarship funds KAB distributes each year. It will provide continuous learning and state-of-the-art training that permits broadcast professionals to keep up with emerging trends and expand the definition of broadcasting.

Kansas students with a passion for broadcasting need our encouragement. Advancing Excellence in Kansas Broadcasting is good for young people and good for business. We hope you will join us.

Thank you.
